Hello again, world

Around 2008, circa 7516 for those still using the Byzantine calendar, I kept a blog just as everyone else seemed to do. It was inane, offensive, dumb, and all sorts of fun. There are worse things I could’ve done at 16, some of which I’ve also done.

Time passed and blogs fell out of fashion, along with lolcats, curtain hair, and other misdemeanors. A few years later I learned what “cringe” was and saw it described my blog, which I then promptly deleted and went merrily along to mainstream social media.

In recent years it became more noticeable to me how dull the internet has become. A baker’s dozen of platforms take up most of people’s attention and the personal touch has been lost to algorithm-fed feeds, bot-fed SEO content and bullshit made for monetization.

I no longer have social media and I’m trying to cut down on screen time in general and make room for “analog” experiences instead. But the internet is nice and it should be more fun and personal, so this space will, hopefully, add to that trend. Or it’ll just be a place for random stuff. Yeah, probably that.

Seb’s Web

A web hermit’s hideaway for posting attempts at art, whacks at writing, rolls of reviews, bucket list blunders, artificial articles and a hodgepodge of hobby histories.

Stick around for stories on slow, retro, and analogue living, odd history, weird finds, half-baked reviews, alternative media and a big folder labelled “misc”.
