Four duds in one – Album edition

Let’s not spend too much time on these. I’ve listened to them and I didn’t enjoy them too much, that’s about it. They’re on the extended 1001 list but… I think when the list gets edited these can go in favour of some 21st century albums.

Tim Buckley – Goodbye and Hello – 5⭐

A rather dull and passé album, the usual 60’s flower-power shtick, lacking the originality and moxie of his son, Jeff.

Booker T. & the M.G.’s – Green Onions – 4⭐

This meeting album could have been an e-mail a single. It’s “Green Onions”, which is a classic R&B jam, with some fodder to make an album out of it.

Slipknot – Slipknot – 3⭐

Metal is already a genre that you either like or don’t. I like metal but in moderation. But Nu Metal? Not my cup of tea.

Joan Armatrading – Joan Armatrading – 4⭐

Never heard of her before the 1001 Albums shuffler suggested it. It’s… fine. In the sense that if I had some extra bucks in the 70’s I’d probably add this to my record collection. But if friends came by I’d put on Tracy Chapman instead, you know?

Alright. Thanks for these, 1001albumsgenerator.com, can I get back to you recommending R.E.M. or Miles Davis?
