Johnny Cash – At San Quentin – 5⭐

I’m a bit torn on this one. It’s a fun album, sure. The live prison audience gives it an absolutely unique and energetic atmosphere. But live albums kind of suck, and this being recorded in 1969 makes this that much more dated. Add to that the bleeping of swears and hissing of a poor analog to digital transfer, I felt this didn’t do justice to Johnny Cash’s songs and the atmosphere of the concert.

Averaging the concept with the production, this’ll have to stay a 5.
