Manchester by the Sea (2016) – 6⭐

I’m padding the 1001 movies list with some films that, while they’re on the list, I’ve watched some time ago not recently.

This one is unfortunate… I remember nothing about the story. I remember the cinematography was so good you could taste the salty and icy air of Massachusetts. I vaguely remember the dusty cinema I was in that day in down-town Stockholm. I remember it was a bummer of a movie and Casey Affleck acted really well. I think he even was a favourite to win that year (I checked, he did, congrats Casey!)

Story-wise? Not even the IMDb description managed to jog the memory, though I was invested in it at that time. So that dropped a few points for its rating. 2016 was such a good year for movies that if you had to watch one film from that year would it be “Manchester by the Sea” or would it be “Arrival”, “Nocturnal Animals”, “Moonlight”, “La La Land”, “Captain Fantastic” etc.
6/10
